Leah’s Pantry is a non-profit organization that aims to provide everyone access to healthy food and nutrition education that: acknowledges and recognizes the impact of traumatic experiences, avoids blame, shaming, or perpetuating stigma, and promotes resilience. Leah’s Pantry is passionate about educating community leaders with the knowledge and tools to transform the lives of people in their communities with nourishing, trauma-sensitive solutions.
Whitmore Lake Area Human Services (WLAHS) staff and volunteers have undergone trauma-informed training with Leah’s Pantry. This training aims to provide a more aware and inclusive environment when serving our neighbors in need. WLAHS has since undergone environmental and procedural changes to reflect this training.
