University of Michigan School of Public Health

The University of Michigan School of Public Health’s Nutritional Sciences department pursue the newest knowledge about diet and human nutrition to improve public health and advance our understanding of contemporary nutrition issues. Nutrition students at Michigan Public Health prepare for careers in community health, health science, dietetics, advocacy, and more through their curriculum, research opportunities, internships, courses, and practical community and clinical experiences.

Whitmore Lake Area Human Services (WLAHS) has partnered with Michigan Public Health for the benefit of their nutrition and dietetics students’. Programs associated with this partnership are WLAHS’ free nutrition informed cooking classes and seminars related to heart health. These programs are to aimed to empower underserved groups in our community through understanding that nutrition is not one-size-fits-all.
