Hamilton-Whitmore Lake Clinic came together through the collaborative efforts of WLAHS and the University of Michigan School of Nursing. The clinic offers comprehensive healthcare to anyone regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay.

Transportation
Whitmore Lake Area Human Services has partnered with People’s Express to provide free public transportation to and from the clinic to residents of Green Oak township and Northfield township.

We encourage the residents of the greater Whitmore Lake area to join our initiatives in building camaraderie, promoting self-care, and instilling inclusive environments.

WLAHS has partnered with Whitmore Lake Community Recreation to provide our community with a free Trojan Fit Club monthly membership (a $50 value).*
*To qualify for a free pass to the rec center, patrons must attend WLAHS at least 2 times a month for health-related events like wellness exams and health-centered activities on our calendar.

WLAHS has partnered with Michigan Medicine to provide general health and wellness exams to our patrons. This opportunity is free and no appointment is needed.
Our on-site nurse practitioner can:
- review blood pressure and sugar
- assist with weight management
- conduct health risk assessments
- and other wellbeing services
This opportunity is only available on Tuesdays from 10 AM – 12 PM.

The United Way 2-1-1 helpline provides referrals to programs to assist with food, housing, financial assistance, utility assistance and more for all Michigan residents.
HIV Health and Beyond
UNIFIED/Vivent Health offers social services, food pantry, HIV testing, sexual health hotline, and opioid harm reduction resources.
Health Coverage
The Washtenaw Health Plan is a health coverage program for low-income Washtenaw County residents who are not eligible for any other insurance (such as Medicaid or from an employer).

9-8-8 is the national Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Conversations are free, confidential, and are with caring and professional counselors. Call this hotline for yourself or a loved one, and know that you are not alone.

The University of Michigan Student-Run Free Clinic (UMSRFC) is dedicated to providing quality health care free of charge to uninsured community members.

Warming Centers
Washtenaw County provides winter sheltering. No pre-registration is necessary for daytime warming centers. For access to overnight warming centers, please contact Housing Access of Washtenaw County (HAWC) at 734-961-1999.

Meals on Wheels
This option delivers meals to ill and frail persons in their homes. A liquid dietary supplement can be provided to homebound seniors who are at nutritional risk. Call the Northfield Township Community Center for more information.

Mitten Minds Support Group is a monthly support group for individuals with mild cognitive impairment or early-stage dementia (not for caregivers or partners/spouses).
Home Maintenance
Catholic Charities Washtenaw County offers free to low-cost basic home maintenance services to help older adults maintain their independence and keep a safe home.
SNAP for Veterans
Michigan State University Veteran Outreach staff promote the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provide navigational assistance during the SNAP benefits application process.
Medical Loan Closet
The Northfield Township Community Center has a Medical Loan Closet with a supply of handicap items – such as walkers, wheelchairs, handicap toilet seats, and shower chairs – for residents to use on a short-term basis.
Senior Cafe Meals
Persons over the age of 60 are invited for a hot meal, nutrition education, and opportunity for socialization. Meals are served Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at 12:30 PM at the Northfield Township Community Center. Reservations must be made by calling the senior center one week in advance.
Home Care Services
AgeWays provides home care services can be a critical piece in helping seniors and people with disabilities continue to live safely in a home setting. These services provide assistance with those activities of daily life a senior might have trouble doing for themselves—things like bathing, dressing, meal preparation or housekeeping.

Safehouse Center supports survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, dating violence, and stalking. All our services are free and available to survivors who live, work or were victimized in Washtenaw County.
Women’s Center
The nonprofit Women’s Center provides therapy and other supportive services to help individuals achieve economic and emotional health. Participants (age 16+) benefit from the help of parenting specialists, career coaches, divorce specialists, and family law attorneys. No one is turned away due to inability to pay.
